今日はN1の漢字を勉強しましょう。(Kyō wa enu wan no kanji o benkyō shimashō.) Let’s go.

This kanji means Buddhist, priest, monk.
The on-reading for this kanji is ソウ (sō) as in 僧院 (sōin) which means “monastery, nunnery” and 尼僧 (nisō), meaning “nun”.
This kanji means ceremony, rule, affair, case, a matter.
The on-reading for this kanji is ギ (gi) like in 礼儀 (reigi) which means “etiquette, manners” and 儀式 (gishiki) “ritual”.
