Hi everyone, welcome to Kanji Time. Today, let’s review N5 kanji. If you want to do the quiz first, go to these times. These times, these times.
This kanji means what, how many, which. The on-reading for this kanji is カ (ka) like in 幾何学 (kikagaku), meaning geometry. And the kun-reading is なに (nani) as in 何人 (nan-nin), meaning how many people.
Outside, other, disconnect. On-reading for this kanji is ガイ、ゲ (gai, ge) as in 海外 (kaigai), meaning abroad. Kun-reading for this kanji is そと、ほか、はず (soto, hoka, hazu) as in 外す (hazusu) to take off.
よし、メガネを外すか。(Yoshi, megane o hazusu ka.)

Actually, 外す has several meanings and both are correct. Sorry for the inconsistency in the lesson. Please let me show you an example for 外す meaning ”to miss".


的を外す(まとをはずす)= to miss the target/mark

I am a little bit confused. In the video, 外す is explained as "to take off" (e.g. your glasses), in the vocab list it is tranlated as "to miss"? So which one is the correct one?
