Hi joni,

Thank you for the comment!

You can say "二人はつき合ってどれくらいですか?”(Futari wa tsukiatte dorekurai desu ka?).

When ”つき合う" is used in Japanese, it usually means the relationship is serious?

Florian san,

Konnichiwa.

Someone likes the other and tell about his/her feeling to the other or ask the other to date. Then the other refuse the offer, you can use 振る.

Other meanings of振る are ‘swing’ and ‘shake.’

Can we say 振る as a way to say "to refuse" somebody or is there another expression for this meaning ?
