Yes, "veteran" means both ้€€ๅฝน่ปไบบ and ๅพฉๅ“ก่ปไบบ in Japanese.

Strictly speaking, however, ้€€ๅฝน่ปไบบ is ex-serviceman and ๅพฉๅ“ก่ปไบบ is demobilized soldier.

In the list above, "้€€ๅฝน (ใŸใ„ใˆใ) ่ปไบบ" refers to veterans but I heard something else in the opening title of the audio for Veterans Day. It sounded like "ๅพฉๅ“ก (ใตใใ„ใ‚“๏ผ‰่ปไบบใฎๆ—ฅโ€. Was that it? And are they the same?
