Evan ใ•ใ‚“

Thank you for the question!

In that ใซใฏ, ใฏ emphasises the word marked by ใซ, so in this case ใปใ‹(other) is emphasised

He omitted the latter part. ใปใ‹ใซใฏใ€ไฝ•ใ‹่ฒทใ†็‰ฉใ‚ใ‚‹๏ผŸ

Thank you for studying with us!

Hello Greg,

Thank you for leaving a comment.

We provide natural English translations in our lessons.

There are a few exceptional cases where we add a literal translation, but that depends on the series.

Thank you for understanding.

Seeing many far off english translations.

In example: Milk and Bread; got it. How may cartons of milk? It really is just asking how many cartons of milk. I was looking in the sentence for the acknowledgement word (got it) and mention of bread. It's not in there.

In example: Okay, so we don't need to buy any right now... it really should say "yeah- We are good for today, right?"

There are many mistranslations. We are trying hard to understand everything in the kanji/hirigana/katakana and voice. Making pleasant english thought translations is not helpful to understand the language. It takes at least an extra 5 minutes or more per sentence to understand the Japanese words and grammar.

The lesson idea is REALLY good and I appreciate the effort. But much of the english ... needs rewrite.

Hi Luke,

Thank you for the comment! Sorry we didn't reply earlier.

"้€”ไธญ ใงใ€ ่ฒทใ„็‰ฉ ใ—ใฆ ใใฆ ใปใ—ใ„ ใ‚“(/ใฎ) ใ ใ‘ใฉ".

"ใจไธญ" is written as ้€”ไธญ in kanji and it means "on the way" or "in the middle".

โ€ใ ใ‘ใฉ" at the end indicates that she wants to say something more and in this case the following part would be "่ฒทใฃใฆใใฆใใ‚Œใ‚‹๏ผŸ", โ€ใ„ใ„๏ผŸ", and so on.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I think maybe Japanese people seldom have friends to visit, because they have to work overtime a lot, and after work, they will go to ใ„ใ–ใ‹ใ‚„ (ๅฑ…้…’ๅฑ‹) to have some drinks ?. In addition, maybe the wife (woman in the dialogue) does not drink beer, In this situation, the dialogue still make sense. ?

Something seems a little strange to me here in this conversation. There was only one beer left, and yet he didn't buy more. What were the two of them going to do, share the one beer? What if they had guests? This is a disaster, he needs to buy more beer. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

By the way, I got the question wrong because I stopped listening once I heard that he only had one beer left. My own logic/opinion took over. So even though he said ่ฒทใ‚ใชใใฆใ„ใ„, in my mind I was saying ่ฒทใ‚ใชใใกใ‚ƒ...

Trisha san,

ใ‹ใช is put at the end of a sentence to express uncertainty, a request or a question.

ใ‚ใ€€ is put at the end of a sentence to soften a statement, used by women.

Itโ€™s used in other situations.

Negative ใฆ-form + ใ„ใ„ indicates โ€˜you donโ€™t need to doโ€™

่ฒทใ‚ใชใใฆใ„ใ„ใ€€you donโ€™t need to buy

้ฃŸในใชใใฆใ„ใ„ใ€€you donโ€™t need to eat
