Hi Evan,

Thank you for the question!

I think "at the end of the room" is an appropriate translation.

"away from the door" sounds a bit ambiguous to me.

some dictionaries say ใฎๅฅฅใซ as "at the bottom of" or "at the back of".

Thank you for studying with us!

I can't find any dictionary that has the definition of ๅฅฅ as the other end of.

Would a better translation of ้ƒจๅฑ‹ใฎใŠใใซ็ฝฎใใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ† not be "let's move it inside the room - away from the door"?

> ใƒใƒผใƒซ san, Yan-san,

Thank you for pointing out about ้š…๏ผˆใ™ใฟ๏ผ‰. I'll speak to my team about it. :sunglasses::thumbsup:

็ฝฎใ is a verb, like you understood correctly, but the word ใŠใ๏ผˆๅฅฅ๏ผ‰ in ้ƒจๅฑ‹ใฎใŠใ means 'at the end of' in this case

and this is a noun. Please note that the particle ใฎ (of) links nouns, not verbs. This can be a tip to recognise

the meaning and a word.

I have went through every Absolute Beginner videos and audios but the word "ใ™ใฟ" was never in the vocabulary list, hence this was my first time seeing this word. It isn't in the vocab list of this video either. Hope you can add it in so I can practice from my flashcards. Thanks!

After studying in the Beginner section and learning a lot of grammar and vocabulary elsewhere, I have found most of these Absolute Beginner lessons quite easy. But with this one it was impossible to be sure of the answer without understanding ใ™ใฟ.

I was also confused by ้ƒจๅฑ‹ใฎใŠใ. You define ็ฝฎใ as "to put" and use it as such but then use it here to mean something different. But I think I understand now that it can also mean "to separate". So he was saying that the bed should be away from the door, or "at the other end of the room" as the translation puts it. (...right?)

Rhes san,

Thank you for your positive feedback.

I am wondering if you just started learning Japanese.

If so, it might hard for you to get meanings from listening only.

If you want to improve listening skills, you should memorize vocabularies and grammar points.

Then you can guess meanings and listen at the same time.

I'm so loving this course. I'm having difficulties when it comes to listening. Are there other tools I could use?
