ポールさん、

こんにちは。

Very good question and that's a very interesting point.

I'd say it's more about the way of translation.

As you might have noticed, expression involving feelings and/or adjectives don't always

work the same way in Japanese and English.

The way you understood, '(thanks for making me) happy', is indeed interesting and I think

that is really correct.

うれしい and 'grateful' might not correspond 100%, but there are some situations where

you would express 'I am grateful' and in Japanese we would say うれしい.

こんにちは!

はい、正しかったですよ。

I was a little surprised to find うれしい meaning "grateful". I've always understood it more like "happy/glad". I suppose in some situations it could be almost the same thing... Is it more of an implied meaning? Like "(thanks for making me) happy", or have I just had the meaning slightly wrong?

授業をありがとうございます。

These Video classes are really helpful!! 1. they are very short, less than 2 min and about 8 sentences in a dialogue. 2. The quiz format makes it easy to remember the content and the vocabulary. 3. There are not many opportunities where we can practice listening of a "complete" dialogue of materials that we have learned. Hope to have more of these lessons!. Thank you.

I understood everything, but I forgot that the question was 'What age is he (now)' by the end of the dialog and thought the answere was 60. A silly mistake on my part :)
