Yes, the regular つ, as in げつようび is pronounced as "tsu",

but the small つ, as in よっか is silent.

It's interesting. I know Spanish as a second language and I've found knowing another language already has helped boost my Japanese study skills. I tried a few years ago on and off to learn Japanese but I could never succeed. Now however with the Japanese pod lessons, I'm doing a lot better and will continue to learn Japanese.

As for questions, I think the only question I have right now is how do I know when to pronounce "tsu" as the Japanese letter by itself or when I add a double consonant? For example, げつよび is pronounced with the "tsu" but something like よっか (四日）isn't pronounced with "tsu" and just pronounces it as "yokka."
