Hi Peter,

Thank you for the question.

It might be easier to understand the 4th sentence is it's written as:

ใ“ใฎๆœจใฏ๏ผˆๆžใŒ๏ผ‰ๅบƒใŒใฃใฆใ„ใพใ™ใ€‚

ๆž (eda) means 'branches.' Because it's somewhat obvious what makes the tree wide, the word ๆžใŒ has been omitted. ๅบƒใŒใ‚‹ is a verb which means to spread (out); to extend; to stretch.

That's said, you can't say ใ“ใฎๆœจใฏๅบƒใ„ใงใ™ because ๅบƒใ„ is an adjective and different from ๅบƒใŒใ‚‹ which is a verb.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Miki H

Hello!

Just a small question about the 4th example: ใ“ใฎๆœจใฏๅบƒใŒใฃใฆใ„ใพใ™ใ€‚

Since ๅบƒใ„ is an ใ„ adjective can't you say ใ“ใฎๆœจใฏๅบƒใ„ใงใ™?

And if yes what is the difference between the two sentences?

Thanks for the great resources.
