Do you remember how to say "I'm sorry [reason]."?
[reason]、すみません。 ([reason], sumimasen.)
Imagine you want to apologize because you told a lie to someone. Do you remember how to say "for lying to you?"
うそを ついて, うそを ついて (uso o tsuite, uso o tsuite)
Say “I'm sorry for lying to you.”
うそを ついて、すみません。 (Uso o tsuite, sumimasen.)
Now say you're sorry for lying, and respond to it.
うそを ついて、すみません。 (Uso o tsuite, sumimasen.)
だいじょうぶです。 (Daijōbu desu.)
Now imagine you want to apologize because you hurt someone's feelings. Do you remember how to say "for hurting your feelings?"
きもちを きずつけて, きもちを きずつけて (kimochi o kizutsukete, kimochi o kizutsukete)
Say “I'm sorry for hurting your feelings.”
きもちを きずつけて、すみません。 (Kimochi o kizutsukete, sumimasen.)
Now say you're sorry for hurting someone's feelings, and respond to it.
きもちを きずつけて、すみません。 (Kimochi o kizutsukete, sumimasen.)
だいじょうぶです。 (Daijōbu desu.)
Now imagine you want to apologize because you canceled. Do you remember how to say "for canceling?"
キャンセルして, キャンセルして (kyanseru shite, kyanseru shite)
Say “I'm sorry for canceling.”
キャンセルして、すみません。 (Kyanseru shite, sumimasen.)
Now say you're sorry for canceling, and respond to it.
キャンセルして、すみません。 (Kyanseru shite, sumimasen.)
だいじょうぶです。 (Daijōbu desu.)
