Hey, guys! This is Risa. Today’s theme is top 10 must-know vocabulary for the restaurant. So, 参りましょう (mairi mashou).
1. レストラン (resutoran) “restaurant”
恋人とレストランに行く。 (Koibito to resutoran ni iku.) “To go to a restaurant with one's girlfriend/boyfriend.” Cheers!
2. 注文 (chūmon) “order”
注文お願いします。(Chūmon onegai shimasu.) “May I order, please.”
3. メニュー (menyū) “menu”
すいません、メニューください。 (Suimasen, menyū kudasai.) “Excuse me, can I have a menu?”
4. 水 (mizu) “water”
お水ください。 (O-mizu kudasai.) “Water, please.”
5. メイン料理 (mein ryōri) “main course”
このコースのメイン料理は何ですか。(Kono kōsu no mein ryōri wa nan desu ka.) “What is today’s main course?”
6. デザート (dezāto) “dessert”
食後のデザートはアイスクリームでお願いします。 (Shoku-go no dezāto wa aisukurīmu de o-negai shimasu.) “For dessert, I’ll have an ice cream.”
7. 禁煙 (Kin'en) “non-smoking”
禁煙席と喫煙席、どちらがよろしいですか。(Kin'enseki to kitsuenseki, dochira ga yoroshii desu ka.) “Smoking or non-smoking?” 禁煙席でお願いします。(Kin'enseki de o-negaishimasu.) “Non-smoking, please.”
8. 喫煙 (kitsuen) “smoking”
お煙草、吸いますか？ (O-tabako, suimasu ka?) “Would you like to smoke?” 喫煙席はあちらです。(Kitsuenseki wa achira desu.) “The smoking seats are over there.”
9. セルフサービス (serufu sābisu) “self-service”
お食事後のお片づけはセルフサービスでお願いします。 (O-shokuji-go no o-katazuke wa serufu sābisu de o-negaishimasu.) “Please clear the table by yourself.” 自分で片付けるということですね。 (Jibun de katazukeru to iu koto desu ne.) “It means that you clean your dishes by yourself.”
10. 現金 genkin “cash”
現金のみのお支払いでお願いします。 (Genkin nomi no o-shiharai de o-negai shimasu.) “Cash only, please.”
