Lesson Transcript

Hi everyone, welcome to Japanese top words. Today we are going to do ten phrases to amaze native speakers. Let’s start.
ありがとうございます。でも実は私ネイティブスピーカーではないんです。(Arigatō gozaimasu. Demo jitsu wa watashi neitibusupiīkā de wa nai n desu)- “Thank you but I am not a native speaker actually.”
うぉ、ほんとに?(Uo, honto ni?) すっごい日本語上手だね!(Suggoi Nihongo jōzu da ne.)うわー、びっくりした!(Uwā bikkuri shita)
上手く話せるようになるのに一年しかかかりませんでした。 (Umaku hanaseru yō ni naru noni ichi-nen shika kakarimasen deshita.) - “It took me only one year to become fluent.”
えー、ほんとに?!すご!(Ē, honto ni? Sugo!)
三年間でネイティブスピーカーのように日本語を話せるようになります。 (San-nenkan de neitibusupīkā no yō ni Nihongo o hanaseru yō ni narimasu.) - “I will speak Japanese like a native speaker in 3 years.”
おー、良い志だ、すごい!(Ō, ii kokorozashi da, sugoi!) 頑張れ、応援してる!(Ganbare, ōen shite ru!)
十年間日本語を勉強してきました。 (Jū-nenkan Nihongo o benkyō shite kimashita.) - “I have been learning Japanese for 10 years.”
うぉー、すごい。継続は力なり。(Uō, sugoi. Keizoku wa chikara nari.)
字幕なしで日本の映画を見ることが出来ます。(Jimaku nashi de Nihongo no eiga o miru koto ga dekimasu.) - “I can watch Japanese movies without subtitles.”
えー、すごい!(Ē, sugoi!)
新しい日本語の単語を一日五十語ぐらい覚えることが出来ます。- (Atarashii Nihongo no tango o ichi-nichi go-jū gurai oboeru koto ga dekimasu.) “I can memorize around 50 new Japanese words a day.”
え、本当に?!ちょっと、その才能を下さい。(E, hontō ni?! Chotto, sono sainō o kudasai)
日本語以外にも幾つかの言語を話すことが出来ます。 (Nihongo igai ni mo ikutsuka no gengo o hanasu koto ga dekimasu.) - “Apart from knowing Japanese, I can speak a few other languages as well.”
えー、何語がしゃべれるの?すごいね。(Ē, nani-go ga sahbereru no? Sugoi ne.)
独学で日本語を勉強しています。 (Dokugaku de Nihongo o benkyō shiteimasu) - “I am learning Japanese all by myself.”
おー、素晴らしい。絶対上手になるよ。(Ō, subarashii. Zettai jōzu ni naru yo.)
話していたことは全部わかりました。 (Hanashite ita koto wa zenbu wakarimashita.) - “I completely understood everything you said.”
京都弁を話せます。(Kyouto-ben o hanasemasu.) - “I can speak Kyoto accent.”

Thank you for posting.

Both 学ぶ and 習う mean “learn” “study”.
習う indicates that you are taught something by someone.
