Hi Joe Almaraz,

Thank you very much for the nice comment! Sorry for our late reply. It's really nice to hear our lessons have been helping you to learn!

As for the order of studying, learning how to write Hiragana and Katakana first helps you to learn speaking.

Here is the link to easy hiragana/katakana lessons:

https://www.japanesepod101.com/lesson/video-s2-1-kantan-kana-1/

Our lesson notes for speaking focused lessons contain Hiragana and Katakana. As you learn new vocabulary from a speaking lesson, you can pick up a word or two from the lesson and study how to write them by looking up the lesson transcript. In order to do this, you need to know hiragana and katakana.

Thank you very much for studying with us. Good luck with studying Japanese!

Sincerely,

Miki H

Hello! This is my first comment. I just want to say Risa you are an excellent teacher! The Japanese I do know are from your lessons! The excellent personality, helps as well! I do have a question. I am an absolute beginner but I do have a few things such as Hai, hello, nice to meet you, cool, after you, thankyou, etc. My goal is to be able to speak and communicate in Japanese. I have been to Taito-Tokyo and travel a bit but my primary goal is speak and communicate better if not perfect. My question is because i do want to learn to write as well, i just want to be able to speak first.. is this the correct way? or should i study the writing first? I have watched the videos and i am trying to learn to speak but not to sure where to start, exactly? lol please help!! As a side help i do watch Forign t.v. drama shows to help with learning and music. Thankyou in advance and i cant wait to learn more!! thankyou!

Maymoona さん、

こんにちは。

お返事がおそくなってしまってすみません。:disappointed:

Your composition was very well done on the whole.:thumbsup:

I'm not too sure what exactly 'organizing' mean. Do you like organizing events for example?

Or do you generally organize things around you like your room?

Also I wasn't too sure about 'making arts'

So, let me take those two out for now. Please check the corrected sentences below:

一年半、日本語を勉強しています。

趣味は、パソコンを使うこと、ペットの世話をすることです。

アニメとドラマを見ること、りょうりをすること、運動をすることが好きです。

Please note that I changed to 運動をすること just to be consistent, but

you can also say 運動をするのが好きです if other items didn't take こと.
