Hey listeners! Did we miss any other Star Wars words and phrases? Write them down here!
その昔、遠く遠く離れた銀河で. That seems good for the opening text “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… “, but I think I have also seen it this way in some screenshots of the Japanese language version of the movies: 遠い昔 はるかかなたの銀河系で・・・ Anyone have their copy of the movie handy so as to confirm?
Thanks for your comment!
It would be “Yaru ka, yaranu ka da. Tameshi nado iran.”
How about “do or do not, there is no try?”
Your friend and you’re right! The variation would be フォースと共にあれ。:)
Petter-san and Cam-san kon’ncihiwa!
Thanks for your feedback! It’s literally means “Trust the force.” so the word 信じる which means “to believe/trust” is used. Since it’s from the subtitle of the movie, the translation isn’t always literal one. So this phrase would mean “Trust the force(, and use it).”
Hope this helps,
Thank you for the comment.
a japanese friend of mine told me that is the japanese phrase for “May the force be with you”
@ Peter, I am sooooooo much a noob, but I think 信 is meant to be a sound not a word bc it’s pronounced しん.
