Thank you for your message and welcome to Japanesepod101.com!

Regarding Japanese writing, it’s better to start learning Hiragana and then Katakana. Please check out our Kantan Kana video series to study them in detail:
https://www.japanesepod101.com/index.php?cat=47

Kanji can be approached later on :)

If you have any questions, please let us know.

This is the first time I’m going to try learning a different language. Since Japanese is using 3 different scripts, I’m not quite sure where to start. I mean what is the best scrip I should learn first. any advise?

Okay so I speak three languages which are Spanish, mi lengua de nacimiento, English, USA born, and Italian, molto bene! So, when I found out Japanese have three scripts of a bunch of words I’m like “This is a start, a painful one”. I’m still trying to remember Hiragana which ill reach 2 weeks studying it by next Wednesday. is it true that you have to get Hiragana down by the end of 2 weeks or else you’ll never get it down and you should just quit or are they being a little mean?

Wow. Seems like kind of a disaster. Wonder why they didn’t get rid of kanji after inventing a phonetic alphabet…

I must say the first 4 intro lessons are well put together, for beginners to get a better understanding of Japanese. Helped me get a better understanding of it.
