Hi everyone!

Now you can count objects up until 10! Try counting some items around you

Hi, thanks for this lesson.

I have a question: now we can count general things from 1 to 10, but what if there are 11 or more objects?

Thank you in advance.

avatar Dirk

Could you please give me a Japanese example sentence like I want to buy three things? Do we need any particle? Do we count money as well this way?

Starr san,
Konnichiwa.
Tsu is a general counter.
However, we have many counters so you should use them if you can.

Konnichiwa,
Your lessons are just great and really helpful. This is what has encouraged me to come to Japan next year. Keep up the good work.☺️

The method I use to remember these counters is to relate them to Japanese Companies which we are familiar with:
1. HITOTSU - HITACHI
2. FUTATSU - FUJITSU
3. MITTSU - MITSUBISHI
4. YOTTSU - YOKOHAMA (rubber and car tires company)
5. ITSUTSU - ISUZU
6. MUTTSU - MUJI (household company)
7. NANATSU - NAMCO (video games company)
8. YATTSU - YAMAHA
9. KOKONOTSU - KOMATSU (construction equipment company)
10. TO - TOSHIBA
Hope that helps a little bit and thank you very much to Japanesepod101 for the great lessons.
