110V-240V charger able to work with 100V Tokyo power plug?

Postby jkid » October 19th, 2008 10:13 am

Just curious. I was going to by a converter given that Tokyo runs at 100V but I think they're quite expensive so I wanted to check first if I even need a converter given that my charger says 110v-240v (50hz/60hz) on it. I know very little about electricity\ and don't want to spend a lot of money if the charger will work fine given its only 10v difference.

Thanks in advance.

It'll work fine, power adapters like those are designed to run anywhere.

That's a very nominal 100v; stick a meter on it and it'll probably fluctuate plus and minus 10% anyhow.

In general less volts isn't going to harm anything.
May not work, but shouldn't harm it.
Too much voltage on the other hand.... things can start going pop!
