Welcome to Three Step Japanese Practice by JapanesePod101.com. In this lesson, you will practice how to talk about what someone is doing. |
Let’s look at the main dialogue. |
Two people are having a conversation. |
めぐみさん、 先週、 おたんじょうびでしたよね。 かんぱいしましょう!今、 何をのんでいますか。 |
Megumi-san, senshū, o-tanjōbi deshita yo ne. Kanpai shimashō! Ima, nani o nonde imasu ka. |
Megumi, last week was your birthday, right? Let's make a toast! What are you drinking now? |
ワインをのんでいます。 |
Wain o nonde imasu. |
I'm drinking wine. |
In this second sentence, the character says のんでいます (nonde imasu). There are many different types of て conjugations for verbs, depending on the last syllable of the verb and the class of the verb. |
