| Two people are having a conversation. |
| ところで､ながおかさんは ひまなとき､ 何をするのが すきですか｡ |
| Tokorode, Nagaoka-san wa hima na toki, nani o suru no ga suki desu ka. |
| By the way, Nagaoka, what do you like to do in your free time? |
| ひまなときは あまり ありませんね｡ でも 休みの日は､ ９時ごろまで ねるのが すきです｡ |
| Hima na toki wa amari arimasen ne. Demo yasumi no hi wa, ku-ji goro made neru no ga suki desu. |
| I don’t have much free time. But on my days off, I like to sleep until around nine. |
| By using のが after the dictionary-form ねる, the speaker makes the verb function as a noun, and marks it as the subject of that sentence. |
