Do you want to travel to Japan?
Today I'm going to tell you about Ueno area in Tokyo.
This is a historical place with lots of culture and shopping.
Let's go!
Welcome to Ueno.
It's known for the Ameyoko Market, massive open-air market.
Pick up discount apparel.
They even sell other things...
上野には大きな美術館や博物館があるので、見どころがたくさんあります。
(Ueno ni wa ōkina bijutsukan ya hakubutsukan ga aru no de, midokoro ga takusan arimasu.)
Pandas are famous in Ueno, find them around the city.
上野動物園は日本で一番最初に開園した動物園です。
(Ueno dōbutsuen wa Nihon de ichi-ban saisho ni kaien shita dōbutsuen desu.)
パンダが有名で、去年新しく生まれたパンダのシャンシャンもいます。
Panda ga yūmei de, kyonen atarashiku umareta panda no Shanshan mo imasu.)
Check out Ueno Park, a large public park next to Ueno Station.
A statue of Saigou Takamori greets you.
西郷隆盛は、江戸後期から明治初期を生きた、日本を代表する歴史上有名な武士の一人です。
(Saigō Takamori wa, edo kōki kara meiji shoki o ikita, Nihon o daihyō suru rekishi-jō yūmei na bushi no hitori desu.)
Shrines are hidden throughout the area.
The park holds different events.
上野公園は上野恩賜公園の通称で、春には桜の名所としても有名です。
(Ueno kōen wa Ueno onshi kōen no tsūshō de, haru ni wa sakura no meisho to shite mo yūmei desu.)
Check out the beautiful fountain.
Expect to see live performances every week. They range from festivals to shows.
Ueno is also home to numerous museums.
Like the famous art museum, it features magnificent sculptures.
日本最古の博物館で、大きな恐竜の化石や、国宝をみることができます。
(Nihon saiko no hakubutsukan de, ōkina kyōryū no kaseki ya, kokuhō o miru koto ga dekimasu.)
You can even see the Skytree from Ueno park.
