暑い夏。(Atsui natsu.) スイカを食べて…。(Suika o tabete...) あ~。(Ā.) Hi everyone, can you see me? Welcome to kanji time. 今日もN1の漢字をやります。(Kyō mo enu wan no kanji o yarimasu.) Let’s go. If you want to do the quiz first, please go to these times. バン!(Ban!)
This kanji means sagacious, genius, excellence. The On reading is シュン (shun) like in 俊秀 (shunshū) meaning talented person. Or in 俊傑 (shunketsu), meaning genius.
1たす1は2。(Ichi tasu ichi wa ni.) 2たす2は4。(Ni tasu ni wa yon.)
This kanji means customs, manners, worldliness, mundane things. The On reading is ゾク (zoku) like in 俗に (zoku ni) meaning commonly, popularly or in 民俗 (minzoku) meaning folk customs. ダン!(Dan!)
This kanji means haiku or actor. The On reading is ハイ (hai) like in 俳優 (haiyū) meaning actor. そこの君。(Soko no kimi.) And then 俳句 (haiku) which is the Japanese poem consisting of seventeen syllables 太陽が ジンジンしみる 焼けた肌。(Taiyō ga jinjin shimiru yaketa hada.)
This kanji means bag, bale, sack, counter for bags. The On reading is ヒョウ (hyō) like in 一俵 (ippyō) meaning one bale and the kun-reading is たわら (tawara) as in 米俵 (komedawara) which is a straw rice bag. よしっ。(Yoshi.) よしっ!(Yoshi!) 米俵。(Komedawara.)
This kanji means stipend, salary. The On reading is ホウ (hō) like in 俸給 (hōkyū) which means salary. And in 年俸 (nenpō) meaning an annual salary.
