Mic, check it out! Hi everyone. Welcome to Japanese Kanji Time. Today, we are going to review N4 kanji. Let’s go. Oh, if you want to do the quiz first, please go to these times.
This kanji means convenience, letter. The on-reading for this kanji is ベン、ビン (ben, bin) as in 便利 (benri) which means convenient and the kun-reading for this kanji is たよ (tayo) as in 便り (tayori), meaning letter. Letter in Japanese is 手紙 (tegami), but also 便り (tayori). 便り (tayori) sounds more polite. 便り。(Tayori.)
Borrow, rent. On-reading for this kanji is シャク (shaku) as in 借金 (shakkin), meaning debt. Kun-reading for this kanji is か (ka) as in 借りる (kariru), meaning to borrow. お金を借りて借金をしてしまった。(O-kane o karite shakkin o shite shimatta.) To borrow money and be in debt.
This kanji means work. On-reading for this kanji is ドウ (dō) as in 労働 (rōdō), meaning labor. When you see a person that’s doing labor, you call them 労働者 (rōdōsha). Kun-reading for this kanji is はたら (hatara) as in 働く (hataraku), meaning to work. Work, work, work, work, work, work.

This kanji means older brother, big brother. On-reading for this kanji is ケイ、キョウ (kei, kyō) as in 兄弟 (kyōdai), meaning brother, sibling. Kun-reading for this kanji is あに、にい (ani, nī) as in お兄さん (o-nī-san), meaning older brother.
