Hi, everyone! Welcome to Kanji Time!
Today, we are going to do N3 kanji.
参りましょう。 (Mairimashō.)
If you want to do the quiz first, please go to these times!
This kanji means “courtyard, garden, yard”.
The On-reading for this kanji is テイ (tei), like in 家庭 (katei) which means “family”.
And the Kun-reading is にわ (niwa), like in 庭仕事 (niwashigoto) which means “gardening, work in the garden.”
This kanji means “style, ceremony, rite, function”.
The On-reading for this kanji is シキ(shiki), like in 儀式 (gishiki) which means “ritual, rite”, and 形式 (keishiki) which means “form, formality”.
This kanji means “hit, right, appropriate, the present”.
The On-reading for this kanji is トウ (tō), like in 当然 (tōzen) which means “reasonable, expected”.
それは当然だよ。 (Sore wa tōzen da yo.) “That’s reasonable.”
And the Kun-reading is あ, あて (a, ate), like in 心当たり (kokoroatari) which means “having some knowledge of”.
So, 私は (watashi wa), I’m a detective.
この写真の男に心当たりはありますか。 (Kono shashin no otoko ni kokoroatari wa arimasu ka.)
