Hi, everyone! Welcome to Kanji Time!
Today we are going to review N4 kanji.
Let’s go!
If you want to do the quiz first, please go to these times.
This kanji means “correct, justice, righteous”.
The On-reading for this kanji is セイ (sei), as in 正解 (seikai) which means “correct answer”.

不正解。 (Fuseikai.) “Not correct.”

And the Kun-reading is ただ, まさ (tada, masa), like in 正しい (tadashii) which means “correct”.
正しい答え。 (Tadashii kotae.) “Correct answer.”
悪い姿勢。 (Warui shisei.)

はーい、では皆さん。日本は英語で何と言うか分かりますか。 (Hāi, dewa mina-san. Nihon wa Eigo de nan to iu ka wakarimasu ka.)

はい、正解! 正しい! Japan です。 (Hai, seikai! Tadashii! Japan desu.)
正しい。 (Tadashii.)
This kanji means “walk, counter for steps”.
The On-reading for this kanji is ホ (ho), as in 歩道 (hodō) which means “sidewalk”.
車道。 (Shadō.)

And the Kun-reading is ある, あゆ (aru, ayu), like in 歩く (aruku) which means “to walk”.

This kanji means “death, die”.
The On-reading for this kanji is シ (shi), like in 必死 (hisshi) which means “desperate”.
トイレに行きたくて必死。 (Toire ni ikitakute hisshi.)

And the Kun-reading is し (shi), as in 死ぬ (shinu) which means “to die”.
Sometimes, if you like watching manga or animation, anime, you might hear the character might say 死ね! (Shine!) which means, “You die!” in Japanese.
This kanji means “people, nation, subjects, citizen”.
The On-reading for this kanji is ミン (min), like in 国民 (kokumin) which means “citizen”.
国民の皆さんの気持ちを第一に考えて、政治をして参りたいと思います。 (Kokumin no mina-san no kimochi o daiichi ni kangaete, seiji o shite mairitai to omoimasu.)

And the Kun-reading is たみ (tami), like in 村の民 (mura no tami) which means “villagers”.

This kanji means “pond”.
The On-reading for this kanji is チ (chi), like in 単三電池 (tansan denchi) which means “AA battery”.

単四電池。 (Tan'yon denchi) “AAA battery, triple A battery”
And the Kun-reading is いけ (ike), like in 古池 (furuike) which means “old pond”.

Both are fine, but we usually use 古い池 (furui ike).
