Hi everyone. New series is here. Welcome to Kanji Time. Kanji Time. どう?(Do?) Kanji Time. Today, we are going to review five N5 kanji. If you want to do the quiz first, go to these times. Let’s go.
ジャン!(Jan!)
Peace, cheap, safety. On-reading, アン (an) as in 安心 (anshin), meaning relief. あ~、安心だ。(Ā, anshin da.) Kun-reading, やす (yasu) as in 安い (yasui), meaning cheap. これいくらですか。(Kore ikura desu ka.) 10円?(Jū-en?) お~、安い!(Ō, yasui!) 買います、買います。(Kaimasu, kaimasu.)
One. On-reading, イチ、イッ (ichi, i). 一月 (ichi-gatsu), meaning January. Kun-reading ひと (hito). 一人 (hitori), one person. 誰か~!(Dare kā!)
To drink. On-reading, イン (in) as in 飲酒 (inshu), meaning drinking alcohol.
ビールもう一杯お願いしまーす。(Bīru mō ippai onegai shimāsu.)
Kun-reading, の (no).
飲む (nomu), to drink.
あ~、飲んだ!(Ā, nonda!)
Right. On-reading, ウ、ユウ (u, yū). 右折 (usetsu), turn right, turn right.
Kun-reading, みぎ (migi).
右手 (migite), right hand.
右手、左手。(Migite, hidarite.)
右手。(Migite.)
Rain. On-reading, ウ (u). 雨天 (uten), rainy weather.
Kun-reading, あめ、あま (ame, ama) as in 大雨 (ōame), meaning heavy rain.
ド!(Do!) ド!(Do!) ド!(Do!) ド!(Do!) ド!(Do!)
Okay. Let’s go to the quiz.
Say the reading of the following kanji:
一月 (ichi-gatsu)
右 (migi)
飲む (nomu)
雨天 (uten)
安い (yasui)
Now, say the meaning of the following words:
飲酒 (inshu) Drinking alcohol
安心 (anshin) Relief
大雨 (ōame) Heavy rain
一人 (hitori) One person
右手 (migite) Right hand.

May I have any advise to find some Japanese vocabulary about I.T. industry? such as "Reboot", "configure", "configuration file' etc.

Yes it's better remember both On and Kun readings of each kanji for the test.

These are some good lessons, thanks. One question though: I know most, if not all, of the kanji for the JLPT N5, but do I need to know the "an-yomi" readings as well for the test?😄
