| In this lesson, you'll practice how to identify objects. |
| You'll be challenged to ask what something is and identify objects. |
| First, let's look at some examples. |
| これは何ですか。 (Kore wa nan desu ka.) |
| それは醤油です。 (Sore wa shōyu desu.) |
| To ask what something is, say これは (kore wa) followed by 何ですか (nan desu ka) To tell someone what an object is, say それは (sore wa) followed by the item name and です (desu) Listen to a few more examples. |
| これは何ですか。 (Kore wa nan desu ka.) |
| それはわさびです。 (Sore wa wasabi desu.) |
| これは何ですか。 (Kore wa nan desu ka.) |
| それは豆腐です。 (Sore wa tōfu desu.) |
| Let's practice. |
| You meet Ken Kobayashi. |
| Ask him what this is. |
| それはわさびです。 (Sore wa wasabi desu.) |
| Now, meet Megumi Sasaki. |
| Ask her what this is. |
| これは豆腐です。 (Kore wa tōfu desu.) |
