Why are you learning Japanese? What's your learning profile?

Hey, I can't find where I'm meant to complete this on the site now - I feel that this needs to be updated somehow, or a note added on this page.

The reason I want to learn Japanese is the same reason I will eventually attempt to learn French! I love the comics medium so much that I passionately want to read new and interesting titles from other countries. But I hit the language barrier. So unless the title I'm interested in is translated, I feel like I'm missing out.

Since Japan is like France, in that so many fantastic comics come out of the country, I really want to learn the language, understand the culture and absorb as much about the countries as possible.

Japan is my favorite of the two. I've always loved the sound and look of the language and found the culture very interesting. This helps me stay inspired to learn. I'm loving this website ^_^

Ohayou Gozaimasu!

Watashi wa caprice desu.

I am studying it because i am interested with the culture and the language. I also wantt to be able to understand the shows without subtitles and read japanese literature without waiting for the translations.

I have no background with japanese language. And my starting level would be absolute beginner right? May i also know what reference materials would be good in helping me study? I looked at the getting stated link and my profile isn't there. It only have profiles for students, business, work, travel, living and family.

And lastly, may know lessons outine should i follow? After finishing absolute beginner season 1, should i take the season 2 next? And after that?

Arigato gozaimasu!

I'm learning because of my interest in Japanese culture. I also have studied many languages, and I am trying to maintain the ones that I have built a good base in. Japanese is one of these languages.
