Hi, guys! Welcome to Japanese Top Words. Today’s theme is 5 major cities in Japan. Let’s find out. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5….
1. 京都 (Kyōto) “Kyoto”
日本の古都、京都に行く。 (Nihon no koto, Kyōto ni iku.) “Go to Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan.”
京都には古い町並みがあるので、 (Kyōto ni wa furui machinami ga aru node,) “There are historical townscapes in Kyoto,” そういうのを見るのも楽しいし、 (sōiuno o miru no mo tanoshii shi,) “so you can enjoy them,” 私が今度行ったらやりたいのは、 (watashi ga kondo ittara yaritai no wa,) “and next time, I want to wear a costume of” 舞妓さんの格好をして町を歩いてみたいです。(maiko-san no kakkō o shite machi o aruite mitai desu.) “apprentice geisha, walking around the town.”
はんなり。 (Hannari) “Gorgeous and graceful.”
2. 大阪 (Ōsaka) “Osaka”
ちょっと、なんでやねん。(Chotto, nande yanen.) “How can that be?” ほんまでっか~? (Honma dekka~?) “Really?”
大阪で、おいしいたこ焼きを食べる。 (Ōsaka de, oishii takoyaki o taberu.) “Eat delicious takoyaki (baked octopus balls) in Osaka.” 大阪は結構、粉物が有名で、 (Ōsaka wa kekkō, konamono ga yūmei de,) “Ōsaka is well known for its foods made with wheat flour,” たこ焼きとかお好み焼きとか結構有名なので、 (takoyaki toka o-konomiyaki toka kekkō yūmei nano de,) “like takoyaki and o-konomiyaki,” おいしい所たくさんあると思います。 (oishii tokoro takusan aru to omoimasu.) “you can enjoy them at a variety of places in Osaka.”
あと人も、東京に比べてフレンドリーと言われてるので、 (Ato hito mo, Tōkyō ni kurabete furendorī to iwareteru node,) “And it is said that people in Osaka are friendlier than in Tokyo,” コミュニケーション取るにも楽しいと思いますよ。 (komyunikēshon toru nimo tanoshii to omoimasu yo.) “so I think you can enjoy communicating with them.”
3. 名古屋 (Nagoya) “Nagoya”
名古屋は、味噌料理で有名だ。 (Nagoya wa, miso-ryōri de yūmei da.) “Nagoya is well known for its miso dishes.”
名古屋にはおいしい味噌の食べ物がたくさんあって、 (Nagoya ni wa oishii miso no tabemono ga takusan atte,) “Nagoya has a lot of delicious dishes with miso,” 味噌カツとか、 (misokatsu toka,) “like misokatsu(pork cutlet with miso)” あと味噌煮込みうどんとか。 (ato misonikomi udon toka.) “and misonikomi udon(fat noodle with miso soup).”
私も名古屋に行くと絶対食べます。 (Watashi mo Nagoya ni iku to zettai tabemasu.) “I always eat miso dishes everytime I visit Nagoya.” 結構味が濃い目なので、 (Kekō aji ga koime nano de,) “These dishes have a strong flavor,” 味濃いもの好きの人にはバッチリだと思います。はい。 (aji koimono zuki no hito ni wa bacchiri dato omoimasu. Hai.) “so if you prefer strong flavors, you will surely like them. Yes.”
4. 東京 (Tōkyō) “Tokyo”
"T"。"T"ってどうやって…?("T". "T" tte dōyatte...?) “"T". How can I make "T"?”
日本の首都、東京。 (Nihon no shuto, Tōkyō.) “Tokyo, the Japanese capital.”
本当に東京はおっきい街で、人がたくさんいます。 (Hontō ni Tōkyo wa okkii machi de, hito ga takusan imasu.) “Tokyo is a really big city and there are many people in this city.”
だからいろんな出会いのある街ですよ。 (Dakara ironna deai no aru machi desu yo.) “So Tokyo gives you a lot of opportunities to meet new people.”
T-O-K-Y-O… Tokyo.
5. 神戸 (Kōbe) “Kobe”
異国情緒あふれる、神戸。(Ikoku jōcho afureru, Kōbe.) “Kobe, the exotic city.”
神戸牛とか有名ですよ。(Kōbe-gyū toka yūmei desu yo.) “One of the famous things in Kobe is Kobe beef,” 神戸のブランドの牛。 (Kōbe no burando no ushi.) “a bland beef in Kōbe.”
神戸で有名な、有馬温泉に行く。 (Kōbe de yūmei na arima onsen ni iku.) “Go to Arima Onsen (hot spring) which is well known in Kobe.”
神戸で有名な有馬温泉ていうところがあるんですけど、 (Kōbe de yūmei na Arima onsen te iu tokoro ga arun desu kedo.) “There is a famous onsen (hot spring) called Arima onsen.” そこも観光名所の一つです。 (Soko mo kankō meisho no hitotsu desu.) “It is one of the tourist spots, too.” 温泉、入りたいか~? (Onsen, hairitai ka~?) “Do you want to go in the hot spring?”
じゃあ今日は以上です。 (Jā kyō wa ijō desu.) “That's it for today.” Thank you for watching! どの場所に一番行きたいですか? (Dono basho ni ichi-ban ikitai desu ka?) “Which city of them do you want to visit the most?” 私は、そうだな、この中だったら、 (Watashi wa, sōda na, kono naka datta ra,) “Well, among these cities,” 今はちょっと神戸に行きたい気分かな。サラッ。 (ima wa chotto Kōbe ni ikitai kibun kana. Sarattu.) “I'm kind of in the mood for Kobe now.” それでは皆さん、また。ご機嫌よう。フフフ。 (Soredewa mina-san, mata. Go-kigen yō. Fufufu.) “See you later, everyone. Have a great day.”
