I absolutely love when people are having fun when making a video. We get to see bits of their personality, which is wonderful.

ちょっと質問!Risa uses the reading あす for 明日. I did a quick search for the three different readings, and I got the general idea that あす is used more in “official communication,” like news reports or weather forecasts, while あした is more for daily conversation. I have a good understanding of みょうにち; I just want to see if you guys have any additional input on the contexts in which you’d use the other two readings. ありがとうございます!

On another note, I just want to say I’ve only had my premium membership for a day and I’m absolutely loving it so far! Undoubtedly the best way I’ve spent my high school graduation money. 日本語は美しい言語だよ!😁 By the way, please tell me if that sounded at least a bit natural 😅 I’m not sure if 言語 is redundant; that was just a literal translation of my English thoughts. Again, ありがとうございました!

Hi Savannah Johnston,
Thank you for your comment!

So do I…👍 It is said that hot summer ruins one’s appetite, but there are many things I want to eat still.

“What do I want to eat now? There’s so many things I want to eat.”

I think I feel a spiritual connection with Risa. XD

Hi Bren,

Thank you for your comment! The word ‘jikan’ is used for both ‘time’ and ‘hour’. However, ‘jikan’ is only used for the meaning of ‘hour’ when placed after a numerical number. For an example ‘three hours’ would be ’san jikan’. Otherwise, the word is often used to express the word ‘time’. This is how the two meanings can be distinguished based on the context of the sentence.

We wish you the best of luck with your further studies.

Guys, respectfully, please remember that you’re supposed to be teaching us japanese… halfway through this video, she stopped giving examples sentences and started just making jokes in english. I’m all for having fun and keeping it lighthearted, but that’s not very helpful…

If you’re PC has recent OS (which I’m sure it does), it should come with
whole language package thing. Please check your language settings and
input settings. Hope this helps! 😉
