Konnichiwa Abdullah Al Yahya,

Thank you for asking.

チョコレートが好きです/チョコレートは好きです are both correct.

But が cannot be replaced by は when it follows question words such as なに(What) , だれ(Who) etc. When answering these questions, the particle が should also be used to mark the answer.

Please check out this grammar Point for your reference: https://www.japanesepod101.com/learningcenter/reference/grammar/147?

Keep up the good work!

in other lessons, I saw ga particle (が) being used with these types of sentences.

for example チョコレートが好きです.

is it only when you ask " do you like...." we add は?

Nath ナツさん、

こんにちは!

I'm sorry for the late reply!

Yes, that is correct! :) But we probably say 日本語を勉強するのが more naturally.

JapanesePod101の美希さんの返事、ありがとうございます。

質問があります。「I like to study Japanese」の日本語訳について、「日本語を勉強することが好きです。」も正しいですか。

Miki-san of JapanesePod101, thank you for your answer.

I have a question: about the Japanese translation of "I like to study Japanese", is "日本語を勉強することが好きです。" also correct?
