Thank you for asking the questions. どうもありがとうございます sounds more formal than the other one, so you can use it if you want to say “Thank you so much.”

Regarding ございます and ございました, I’d like to recommend this lesson which will help you understand the differences clearly : )

Is it possible to increase the expression of your thankfulness by using どうもありがとうございます instead of ありがとうございます only?

What is the difference between ~ございますand ~ございました?
