Very useful. Watching the stroke order as it happens is so helpful, as are the long vowels. Can’t wait for you to do katakana, too. Might as well - I need to read menus!
And yes, I can now read most of Beginner Lesson #16.

I wonder which kana are more frequent than others, and which combinations are frequent.

みなさん、
Thank you for your comments!
Michaelさん,
Good question!
I would say that for the individual characters, you see them all very often (with a few exceptions, for example, ぬ is not used in too many words). As for combinations, though, the “ky”, “sh”, and “ch” combinations are very common, but you don’t see other combinations like “hy”, “py” and “my” used nearly as much. I think as you learn and read more Japanese, you’ll get a feel for which are more frequent

I cannot wait for #9 (would that be kyu or kuu?) as well as the Katakana series. Or are they there and I can’t find them?
Thank you so much for doing this.

Not to be picky…but I think this is supposed to be under season #2, right?
It might be confusing for the casual visitor or new person to see it skip from lesson #7 to lesson #9 in season 2’s listing.
I really love the lessons! Will there be a カタカナ series after this?

And yes, once we finish up the hiragana, we will move onto katakana! Please stay tuned!

efim soferさん,
Thanks for your question -
The entire series is not free - only the first 3 lessons, and the most recent lessons. You will need at least a Basic subscription to download the rest.
