Learn Polite Japanese at JapanesePod101.com! Today is the final lesson in our ryokan series. Mr. Iga spent a lot of time trying to find a place for his family. Today they final arrive and get to check out the room, but they may have brought an unwelcome guest. Today’s grammar is another use of sekkaku and we’ll take a look at a new idiom. Don’t forget to check out the Combo track which features the combined dialog from all four ryokan lessons, a sure fire way to improve your listening skills with no English at all. After listening, stop by JapanesePod101.com and be sure to leave us a post!

Mina-san, I’m not too sure about what was in Iga-san’s bag, but doesn’t this ryokan sound nice?
It does sound nice !!!
Can’t wait for the review written by the “undercover” travel guide inspector.
That could make for an interesting JCC series : Discover japan with Taro ! But I guess he(it) would have to work a little bit more on the dialog…
Is it just my computer or are the lessons pushed way down to the bottom?
Neil, what browser + version and operating system are you using?
Start to finish, this was a great lesson! It was good to see Taro make a cameo too!
Living in Japan, I can say going to a ryokan is a special treat. So I can understand why Iga san tried so hard to find the right place at the right time. Very realistic.
That’s strange, I just added a bunch of 足 idioms to Anki on Thursday
Naomi-sensei made a pleasant 女将. I think now that if I did go to a ryokan I’d be pretty disappointed if they didn’t say うふん
花のようなスポーツセンターの前に まよい歩く ボールを見たり 歌を聞いたり 旅館のような建物に 牛肉フレンクを食べたり して いるのは 仕合わせでしょう? 人によて 好きな食類が 違って 焼いた野菜を届いたにともなって 嫌だ ほかの焼き型をやる と指示しました
超うまそうだよ! Hahahahahahaha ![]()
That’s an instant classic!
Oh.
This is the ryokan lesson, I thought I posted on the Party in the Burbs one.
Well.. I feel silly now.
うふん!
私の友達で旅行会社に勤めている人がいるのですが、その人のお気に入りの下田の旅館は「季一遊」だそうです。私は一度だけしかいったことありませんが、とてもいい旅館だと思います。
One of my friends works at a travel agency. She recommended me a ryokan called “Toki ichiyuu”. I’ve been there only once, but I thought it was a very good ryokan.

Hi Daniel-san,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The Video Vocab should now work just fine. Sorry for the inconvenience.
