Mina-san, does this sound like a nice ryokan to you?

Is there an inside joke I’m missing? Why does Miki’s final line in these skits always end in “heh-heh”?

4年前に僕と両親に広島の旅館に泊まった。その旅館は都会の中だったし、電停の近くにあった。つまり とても便利だった。そしいて、従業員はいちばん親切な人んだよ。将来その旅館に戻るよ。

Brian, she doesn’t say heh heh, she says うふん, they were discussing it in the comments for one of the previous lessons in this series. It’s like English “ooh-la-la” or something, just some cute expression.

>>日本の地域に関してレッスン…
そうですね!!!日本の観光ポイントについてダイアログの中で紹介するのは、とてもいいアイディアだと思います。すこし考えてみます。
ジャービジ-san
私も、気になりました。どうしたんでしょうね…。変ですよね。
>>今日のイントロは2回…
はい。
Glenn-san
いいですね。私は広島に行った事がありません。いつか行きたいと思います。広島は路面電車(street car)がまだあるんですよね。

Would it be possible to do a staying at a ryokan series at intermediate or lower intermediate level? This series is going totally over my head now unfortunately, which is a bit of a shame as part 1 started out a good deal easier… but now it’s become super tough.

I found this one more difficult, but reading through it a few times and shadowing make it a lot more comprehensible. It seems like you’ve actually achieved something when you do that, rather than just listening to something you understand from the get go. It might be a good idea to look up some of the keigo that isn’t covered in the lesson if you’re not familiar with it.

i agree with ジャービジさん on this one… if you could get through the first, this one isn’t too bad, but you really have to work at it. when you find some japanese you can’t grasp here, the beauty is you can keep reviewing it. grab the PDF and the go through the Line by Line Audio in the Learning Center…
if the grammar of this humble and polite japanese is too much for you, don’t worry… we have a business phrases series coming up in the beginner level very soon, so it might be good to bounce between this lesson and that lesson when it comes out.

All of these Upper Intermediate lessons are too difficult for me!

But I repeat them a lot and get familar.
Beginner Business Japanese sounds like a great idea!!

Test is necessary when we want to learn something. The speaker on the internet is different from the telephone conversation. It might be replaced later for more convenience.

Is there a typo in Shintaro’s third line, where he says the alternative is to go by cab? 行いく ?
As for me, I still haven’t made my mind up about this particular intro
