yeah, like maxさん said… 実は means “actually” or “really” or “the truth is…”
it’s a really useful way to start a sentence

マジで (usually, but not always, written like this) means “really?!” or “seriously?!” it’s very informal (don’t use it in your class or in a meeting or talking to your friends’ parents).

this is rough guy’s style. VERY informal.
in textbook japanese we would see
娘は、やらないぞ！
the ～ない is contracted to ～ん
ぞ is a sentence final particle that adds emphasis. it’s sort of like よ, but a little more male.
so the sentence means “as for my daughter, i won’t allow it!” in a very strong, informal, guy’s style.

Heh, I guess that answers my question - the podcast that is now available has been changed so that the English translation is in line with the translation in the PDFs. It’s almost a pity - I think “we’ve bought a house” would make a great colloquial way of saying “we’re pregnant”.

Somehow i am having technical issues with this lesson.
none of the 3 audio methods seem to work
they give me an error… while trying to download the audio file it gives a file which is 1kb size.

having no troubles with any other lesson, i suppose this one is just a corrupt mp3 file on the webserver?

i hope any of you can confirm if they have the problem too
and if its not my problem then i hope you can fix it soon

This may be a dumb question, but I actually have no idea how to re-download a podcast episode through iTunes. I have the copy with the original English translation, and I could not figure out how to get iTunes to give me the “Get” button back. So I deleted it. Now the audio is completely gone from the subscription episode list.

Anyone know how you reset the podcast subscription so that deleted episodes reappear, and how you download a subscribed podcast a second time? I’m on the premium feed, so I can’t go back to the iTunes store to get it via there, either.

It’s not really that big of a deal for this situation, but now I need to know how you do it.
