Glad 太郎found a chance to get away from Koji. Had he not, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a visit from 
PETA . 
I thought he needed to get away from Koji after the first lesson.

I find Koji’s slurred plain speach extremely difficult to follow. Futsu kana? Dou sho?

Neil, I thought the same thing when I heard the first one, but I listened to the dialogs a few times with the translation. And when I listened to this one, it wasn’t so tough!

you’re right, it’s very hard to understand that slurred style of speech. On the other hand, there are probably 10,000,000 japanese guys who kind of slur their speech that way, so you’re probably better off biting the bullet now and training yourself to (sort of) follow that way of speaking.
OBVIOUSLY learning Japanese would be a total piece of cake if everyone spoke like Naomi-sensei and Natsuko-san…but…that’s not the way the cookie crumbles…

At least in an actual conversation, you can ask them to slow down. In English, I get asked that all the time by some people.

I find the Japanese spoken by older males the most difficult in terms of listening & comprehension, so this lesson was very useful. Thanks for a great lesson.

I appreciate many Japanese guys speak in this kind of drunken manor, but I think such dialogue would be better left for some kind of advanced course. I usually manage okay with the intermediate stuff (although it’s sometimes difficult to the huge amount of new words), but this one was just noise to my ears. Very difficult to make out any words in there.
