In Japanese the suffix -gari literally means “hunting” but can often be translated as “picking” or “looking for.” Today she’ll tell us all about the various kinds of “hunting” she enjoys. She’ll also tell us what kind she doesn’t like! After listening, stop by JapanesePod101.com and be sure to leave her a post!

Hello Miki san
i had a good time reading your blog today
wow doing all those things during the fall sounds like fun
i liked the story about the fireflies
it’s been a long time since i saw one
i dont particularly have any special food or activity during this time
but i would like to go camping to the mountains before it gets too cold
i had fun trying to picture you doing all these things
enjoy

This is a great lesson! For anyone who couldn’t follow everything, I really recommend having a look at the translation. 美樹先生 goes into detail about something that was in a lesson last week but not really expanded on.
いいレッソンですね!俺はDVD狩りも本狩りが大好き.実は本狩る事は本を読む事より面白いとおもいます。家にまだ読んでいない本がいっぱいある!

みきさんへ
私には秋に「紅葉狩り」の方が素晴らしいと思います。きれいな色からとても気に入れるんです。そしてそろそろ花火大会季節になります。

clienadさん、
lol, we should point out, you’re referring to the intro, not Mikiさん’s blog.
as for ギャル, my girlfriend (she’s ギャル) would go crazy if she saw that first link (very old).
i’ll suggest this as an example of ギャル fashion:

Haha Yeah. Sorry, of course! Just thought that one of the funniest things ive heard for a while. An argument between a ヤマンバ and a ギャル just has so much potential.
Cha’ and where do you think your going? With a skirt that short and legs them fat! Its like a West Indian argument. brilliant. Sorry to have interrupted the flow of the lesson. ahem.
Take care.

ファッション狩りとは言いません。
でも、その言い方はおもしろいと思います!
私もショッピングが大好きです
>Clienadさん
今ちょうど、紅葉狩りに良い季節ですね。
秋は本当に良い季節だと思います。
ヤマンバもギャルもおもしろい日本の文化だと思います
でも、私は真似しようとは思いません
