Mina-san, what do you think? 井上さんは本当に困りましたねぇ! What would you do if you were in this situation? Would you pull a Natsuko and tell the truth? Or would you pull a Peter and hit up some scalpers? Or would you find another way out of this bind? By the way, the site Peter was talking about is this one: イープラス http://eee.eplus.co.jp/index.html
Wednesday at 7:19 pm
I would try the blackmarket or ebay
Happy Wednesday!
Wednesday at 8:26 pm
Before Peter said anything, I was thinking スカルパーはどこですか
Wednesday at 11:33 pm
What about the old-fashioned word “ticket tout” as we say in the UK?
Wednesday at 11:37 pm
I would prefer Peter-san’s way… because he promise that he have two ticket… if theres no way, telling the truth is good…
Thursday at 12:16 am
i’d avoid the other person and see if they just forget about it….
Thursday at 12:52 am
Doraemon-san, よい一日になるように!
Ebay!イーベイ!イーベイ!
Chris-san, 懐かしいな〜!I remember them outside every sporting event that I went to as a child!
Thursday at 12:56 am
Gillian-san, ticket tout! 初耳!Thanks for the British English! Alc has the same translation as scalper ダフ屋. 面白い!Please keep the lingo lessons coming!
Markobe8-san, ありがとうございます!Great minds think alike!
We’ll have to get a translation from Kishimoto tomorrow for this phrase!
Thursday at 2:48 am
あのさ、peterさん、ダフ屋ってさ、なつこさんがレッスンでもう教えてくれましたよ
for those who are interested, i’ll break down the etymology of this word…
札=ふだ=ticket (we can see this word in 改札 “electric ticket gate” at the train station)
reverse ふだ for street slang and now it becomes だふ (ticket)
add 屋
and now we have: ダフ屋= the guy who sells you illegal tickets
can’t learn that in a text book, can ya?
go natsuko!!

Hello there,
I just noticed a typo on the pdf notes:
in page 3 at the last example at grammar section in romaji is:
boku wa, asita no shiai ha……
and it should be
boku wa, KONDO no shiai ha….

Thursday at 11:31 am
ダフ屋。。。。ちょっと怖いですね。
doraemon-san
Maybe the eBay is 良いべ!
Ebay! 知らなかった! I wish we could have eBay in Japan…
markystar-san
How come did you know that? I guess most Japanese don’t know it.
スウェーデンのイソさん
We fixed it up!
mina-san, have you ever bought some ticket from ダフ屋(scalper)?
i never done that…
Thursday at 12:45 pm
そうなら、私はバイオリンを持っているままで入りながら、「はい、ただ私です」と言います。
If that happened, I’d walk in while holding a violin and saying ‘It’s just me’.
Thursday at 10:09 pm
I would do what Natsuko-san said and tell the truth…
But, in case someone is interested, I’ve got two tickets left for Seiji Ozawa concert for a very good price!
Mata!
Friday at 3:44 am
Sorry, João Paulo, I don’t have the funds (or time off from work) available right now for a flight.
Friday at 3:46 am
I guess, I’ll just have to stick with Sam Szor
Friday at 6:19 am
Don’t worry Chris-san,
I fact, I did just like Inoue-san, I promised some tickets I don’t have! Gomen nasai
Anyway, your schedule seems to be very well planned. I hope you enjoy your concert. Have fun!!!
Saturday at 12:07 am
The price is right, too.
Are there free classical concerts in Japan?
