Nice! Thanks! Are they getting easier? I am sure it can´t be my Japanese
Happy Mothers Day, all

sorry about the stupid question but is it really an obento-BAKO? I thought it was a hako?:???:

昔話「むかしばなし」story of long ago, folklore

(4th Sunday of Lent です。)

Often, in kanji compounds, the first character of the subsequent word is altered with dakutens, so ha becomes ba. Probably just because makes it easier to say

Norgus-san
Thank you I learned the word for flute
Toro-san
I agree with you, probably to make pronunciation more fluid
Belton-san
I agree. Where did it sunddenly go?

Hi All - Only just joined recently and now I understand what Peter-san often referred to in the lessons. Learn from the community and I can see this so clearly from Norgus -san explanation on bako vs hako. Thanks v much indeed.
Perhaps this can become part of a lesson or is this already part of some previous lessons?
