Mina-san, what do you do when you catch a cold?
Wednesday at 9:37 pm
I think I prefer to stay in bed under the blankets (when it’s cold), watching a good movie and eating good food with friends and family.
This lesson was really nice. I wonder what o-kayu is. Is it really good? Rice with water and salt doesn’t seem to be very appealing to me. Sachiko-san’s pizza seems to be a better suggestion, though
))
Let’s just hope today’s character gets better soon. Btw, does anybody know how to say “get better soon” or sth similar in Japanese???
Arigatou gozaimasu! Mata!

If I catch a cold, I probably will make some ginger soup, drink it up, take some cold medicine that can makes me feel sleepy enough so I could go to bed as soon as possible with lots of cover on top. The idea is to wake up with a lot of sweat.
I think O-kayu is probably similiar to porriage made of rice with water rather than oats with milk, or is it called gruel in America?
Odaijini, Sakamoto-san!

joão pauloさん、
get well soon is お大事に o-daiji ni.
nanakaさん、
rice gruel is the same thing, but “gruel” sounds so dickensian. reminds me of oliver twist.

minasan,
I found this pages on おかゆ, if you want to try and make it- it looks a bit like congee (a chinese dish) that is very easy to make. A little rice goes a long way but it takes time to make because of the soaking overnight and th elong boiling.

I think all of the above is correct, anyway, does anybody know any webpages that I can use to learn more 擬音語 (Japanese onomatopoeia)
Thank you

Jordiさん、
残念ながら、擬音語についてサイト知らないですけど、もしjordiさんがそんなサイトを見つけたら、皆に教えてください。ホントに興味があるんですな。
JZさん
I want to be sickってちょっとヘンなイメージじゃない?
でも、いっぱい笑いましたよ!

That was very helpful! I hope I dun get a cold this time of year. It would suck to be inside sick while it is so nice out.

mikuji– thanks for the links!
hmm…knock on wood, i have not had a cold in a long time. ^___^
it seems, though, that the weather is strange everywhere lately. I am really starting to think people are believing more in the effects of global warming. neh?
