みなさん、こんにちは。美樹です。

ホッと一息つくとき、みなさんは何を飲みますか？
コーヒーでしょうか？紅茶でしょうか？
私は日本茶をよく飲みます。日本茶を飲むと、とてもリラックスできます。日本茶は日本だけでなく、世界各国でも飲まれているようですね。みなさんも飲んだことがあるかもしれません。しかし、海外では甘い日本茶やフルーツ味の日本茶が多いと聞きました。紅茶と同じ感覚でアレンジされてしまったようです。
私も試しにマスカット味の日本茶を飲んでみましたが、意外とスッキリしていておいしかったです。でもやっぱり日本茶はそのままで飲みたいかなぁ。

みなさんは『茶柱』というものを知っていますか？これはお茶の葉の茎のことです。この茎が湯のみという日本茶用のカップにたまに入ることがあります。そしてごくたまに、その茶柱がお茶の中でプカプカと縦に浮いていることがあります。このことを『茶柱が立つ』といいます。これはとても珍しいことで、茶柱が立つと縁起がいいと言われています。

去年、トルコに旅行に行った時にトルココーヒーを飲みました。トルコではコーヒーを飲んだ後のカップに残った模様で占いをすると教えてもらいました。これは日本の茶柱に少し似ていますね！

今週のブログの話題はとても面白くて、本当に勉強になりました。
わたしも寝る前に暑い飲み物を飲むことに慣れました。しかし、お茶やコーヒーでなく、フルーツ味の飲み物を飲んでいます。
飲み物の占いは、イタリアにあるかわかりませんが、わたしは聞いたことがありません。

Since you’re going to Korea Peter, I was wondering if you could ask around for good book recommendations for learning Korean as well. And it’d also be good if some people get started on some sort of Korean podcast; I’m sure the attention for it will be high. =]

I always look forward to your audio blog posts. Hard for me, but fun too. I’m probably more of an intermediate level speaker.

“ホッと一息” I get the “一息” part (I think–a breath or a pause), but I don’t get the “hot” part. And it’s not all katakana ホット, so it’s not really “hot” either. What’s going on right here?

No withdrawal for me. I am still working on the older intermediate lessons. There is so much material here.
I think there is always the thrill of something “new” that makes the daily podcasts interesting. It provides a connection to the community. It is clear that the number of posts is way down this week due to the absence of new podcasts.
