Japanesepod101.com Team:
She is a woman after my own heart. Also, her daughter agrees!
I predict she will “forget” the security code again, know what I mean?
Who is the older woman voice actor on today’s episode? I love it when she said, “かっこいいけいびさん”.
Wednesday at 1:13 am
Awesome as always, thanks a lot for the hard work!
I understand your point

This was JPod101.com at their finest. Great job!
朝ごはんにチリオスを食べてしまいまして、鶏をしまいません。上さんにめいわくをかけます。
I’m sure I butchered that, but it was worth a shot.

Asahi_NYsurf-san, thanks for the support! Yeah, this one should be good!
Liz-san, that is Fujimoto-sensei! I think she has a great voice!
She is a huge help around the office!
Hugo-san!! 元気ですか。It’s great to have Fujimoto-sensei around the office!
Sukorudowan-san, thanks for posting and for writing in Japanese! Please keep posting like this one! In regards to -te shimau: “while it refers to completion of action, it carry implications of unwillingness and dissatisfaction on the part of the doer.”
So if you just wanted to say you had Cheerios for breakfast, you would most likely go with the past tense of the verb. However, if you ate the last of the Cheerios, and other family members started showing up looking for Cheerios, you would say, “チリオスを食べてしまいました。”

皆さん、今日は、
there’s an error in the PDF, ‘kare…’ was translated as ‘I… ‘ (first example sentence)

I think another way to describe 〜てしまう is “regretably … I/you did it”.

Another great episode, as always.
JP101 team, Hitchcock would have been envious about your stories.
Keep the suspense going.

One grammar question about today’s dialog:
In the sentence:
ごめいわくをかけてしまいましてもうしわけございません。
what form exactly is しまいまして。
It looks like a て form constructed on the ます form of しまう。
But does such a form really exist? I do not think it was ever introduced in previous lessons. This seems to be very polite Japanese.
Could anybody clarify this ?
Thanks
Jean-Michel

timothy-san,
It’s really a good thing! If you can speak Japanese in your dreams, I’m sure you must be able to speak Japanese in an actual world.
