Mina-san, Please let us know what you think about the Season 2 format and lesson! Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
Wednesday at 10:45 pm
By chance I’m home today (November 1st is holiday in Italy…), so I could listen the first Beginner Lesson Season 2 as soon as you issued it: I must say that once more JPOD101 team has done a great job!!!
I think this kind of lessons can be very useful both for refreshing the contents of previous Beginner Lessons (as the Latin saying goes: “repetita iuvant”, i.e. “repeating is good for you”) and for having a more in-depth view of the topics already dealt in the past. That is to say, I feel that all the listeners (both at the Beginner and Intermediate Level) may get a lot from these lessons.
So, once more どうもありがとう and 頑張って下さい!!!

First today
I am proud to be first posting a comment to this new series, and happy to say that, once more, the learning material in there looks quite valuable. At least for me, the information on time was useful. I am looking forward to hearing more along this line. Well done!

I was hoping I’d be the first commenter for Season 2, but apparently not. But I was the first comment on japanesepod101’s new promotional video:

Oooops. Carlo was too fast. Shame on me

Season 2; just for us slow old people!
Thursday at 12:56 am
Fantastic!!!! Love it, love it, love it!! Thanks so much! You know I am very experienced
at teaching. The great teachers listen to their students and adjust their teaching accordingly. You heard us moaning!
I learned so much from this lesson! Maybe I really can get to “the next level”!
Thursday at 1:35 am
I love season 2 already. This lesson brought a lot of Japanese back which I had forgotten, and I learnt some new stuff too
.
I’m really looking forward to the next lesson.
ありがとうございます。

I like the hosts voices and manner of speaking-not cheesy or weird, professional & fun. Invaluable lessons. Thanks again.
Thursday at 10:40 am
Great lesson! I’d like to see more inclusion of “compound” words made up of 2 kanji. They are very useful.
Thursday at 11:23 am
Are you going to have any more intermediate lessons? I found yesterday nice but was a little disappointed today…
But thanks! I really enjoy Nihongo this way.
すばらしいですよ!
Thursday at 11:39 am
Mina-san, thank you for your feedback on the first episode of Season 2. When we first started, we covered a tremendous amount of material in a short period of time. We never had the chance to really reinforce what we were teaching, and Season 2 provides the perfect opportunity to review and reinforce previously covered material, while at the same time cover topics and structures we left out.
Please keep the feedback coming.
よろしくお願いします!
Thursday at 4:19 pm
Revision’s always good to reinforce things that are a little rusty. I still need more practice hearing numbers correctly at full speed (times and prices mainly).
By the way, is the new lesson line up now:
Monday: Survival Phrases
Tuesday: Lower Intermediate
Wednesday: Beginner Season 2
Thursday: ?
Friday: Intermediate or Video
Saturday: Culture or News
Sunday: Blog
Thursday at 6:48 pm
OK, so 1 question. When do Newbie lessons start? Tomorrow by any chance? I hope so. The Lower Intermediate lesson sounded good yesterday and the Beginner Lesson today was awesome. I hope to see more of these lessons very soon. Good work!
Thursday at 8:28 pm

Sunday at 6:07 pm

I’ve just started here at Japanesepod101, and I was wondering when should S2 lessons be learned? Only after I’ve completed all of the original Beginner lessons, or should they be mixed in with the originals? If the latter, when would be the appropriate time to listen to each lesson?
Wednesday at 11:39 am
Rainwalkerさん、
Welcome!!
As for your question, I think it all depends on your level and how much time you have.
There are something like 170 Beginner Lessons. And the last ones are pretty much native level Japanese. Season 2 keeps practicing the basic grammar.
If you study for a test like JLPT, maybe season 2 is around level 3. Personally, I think Beginner Season 2 has the most fun lessons - there’s enough grammar for the stories to get kind of crazy and you’ll get some slang and high level things mixed in from time to time.
A lot of listeners listen to everything, especially if they’re following the current lessons. Even if it’s too difficult or too easy, you’re bound to learn something.
Also, be sure to interact with the community. They’re a very valuable resource here!! Lot’s of helpful and friendly people!
Hope this helps,
Marky

Hi,
I returned to the UK after heading up a technology marketing department for HP 5 years ago, a friend told me about JP101 - just joined and just wanted to say FANnnnnnnnnnnntastic.
Well done.
Monday at 9:32 am
This lesson is excellent - thank you very much for it. I really like the way you repeat each word and sentence slowly, and then explain them. It’s so helpful, but surprisingly rare to find. Keep up the awesome work!
Thursday at 12:03 pm
ありがとうございました!
Favorite part: 六時十分まえ
It’s so useful!
またね!
Friday at 2:34 am
Good lesson. I’m trying to start from the beginning, but season one was a little hard to follow. I need some help with the informal… if it was already covered… ごめんなさい。
These phrase tripped me up in their construction:
気が変わったわ。
行かないことにした。
……………
ありがとごさいます!
Friday at 1:53 pm
ケリーさん、
Beginner Season 4, which is the linear type, might be good for you if you want to learn from the beginning of the beginner level.
Beginner Season 2 is not linear style, and it’s designed to reinforce the Japanese you already learned and also introduces slang and well-known dialect forms.. So, it might be a little hard.
行かないことにした is the sentence structure of “-koto ni suru.” You can see the explanation for this grammar here.
http://www.japanesepod101.com/learningcenter/reference/grammar/175
気が変わった literally means “mind changed,” so it means “I changed my mind.”
Monday at 12:27 pm
Steve Campbellさん: Arigatou gozaimasu!!
Keep studying with us ね!
Danielさん: Thank you so much for the feedback
So glad you’re finding the lessons helpful!
Loraさん: どういたしまして!
レッソンは便利だと言ってくれて、ありがとうございました。
Thank you for saying the lessons are useful! じゃねー! See you~!
Thursday at 9:34 am
the expression are confusing to me like S+O+V because the sentences makes the sound more reversed.
so i think i should do a “take notes” so i can use these words to workout my sound effects to pronunce it.
Thursday at 2:51 pm
Hello. Could you upload the lesson notes for Mac users as the ones currently up do not show up. Thank You
Thursday at 3:06 pm
