James: This is Must-Know Japanese Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 6. In this lesson, you'll learn slang expressions for describing relationships, part 1.
James: You will find slang terms for someone particular.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
James: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Risa: 元カレ (motokare)
Risa: アラサー (arasā)
Risa: バツイチ (batsu ichi)
Risa: パシリ (pashiri)
James: Risa, what's our first expression?
Risa: 元カレ (motokare )
James: literally meaning "ex-boyfriend," and when it's used as a slang expression, it means the same.
Risa: [SLOW] 元カレ [NORMAL] 元カレ
James: Listeners, please repeat.
Risa: 元カレ

James: Use this slang expression when you want to refer to a former boyfriend. You can also say
Risa: 元カノ (motokano)
James: for "ex-girlfriend."

James: "I cannot forget my ex-boyfriend."

James: literally meaning "around age 30," and when it's used as a slang expression, it means the same.

James: literally meaning "one crossed mark." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "divorcee."

James: Use this slang expression when you want to refer to a person who has divorced once. There are also related slangs, as in
Risa: バツニ (batsu ni)
James: for someone who has divorced twice,
Risa: バツサン (batsu san)
James: for someone who has divorced three times, and so on.

James: literally meaning "errand." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "gofer."

Risa: 使いっ走り (tsukaippashiri),
James: meaning "running an errand" and usually has a derisive implication.
