Hi, everyone! Welcome to Kanji Time!
Today, we are going to learn N5 kanji.
Let’s go!

This kanji means “north.”
東西南北 (tōzainanboku). North.
The On-reading for this kanji is ホク(hoku) like in 南北 (nanboku) which means “south and north.”
And the Kun-reading for this kanji is きた (kita) like in 北日本 (kita Nihon) which means “northern Japan.”
北日本は、青森とか、岩手... (Kita Nihon wa, Aomori toka, Iwate...)
東北の方です。 (Tōhoku no hō desu.)
This kanji means “tree, wood.”
The On-reading for this kanji is ボク, モク (boku, moku) like in 木刀 (bokutō) which means “wooden sword.”
And the Kun-reading is き,こ (ki, ko) like in 木の葉 (konoha) which means “leaf.”
