LOL Best story ever!

I never even noticed the excessiveness of "very nice". I just thought it was kind of cute, like he must have picked up this use of "nice" from the Japanese and was using it instead of "good" because "very good" sounds too condescending or teacherly for the Jpod lesson style. Peter's always playing the student so it's like we're all learning together. "Nice" even has the "ssss" ending which the Japanese speakers pronounce so crisply in the same way as "desu".

But now I'll notice it all the time, darn you! =P

I just didn't have the heart to destroy her carefully established intuitive leap, so I nodded and walked away, and proceeded to collapse in giggles.

I found a japanese videoclip who is a good illustration of your story:

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

This is quite funny, because I noticed it after about the fifth lesson.

Hey, I like the very nice. Well, not that I would do it but I think Peter has an great "disarming, and charming" personality and the multitude of minor encouragements only add more color!

Very nice Peter, you'r doing great. You bring it all together. :P
