VOTE!

Postby seanolan » November 2nd, 2006 12:33 am

Ladies and Gentlemen, I humbly beg of you to vote for this podcast on PodCast Alley (the link is on this site's homepage). We were #3 in Educational podcasts and #68 in all podcasts last month. I want us to do even better this month. I want to see Mondo Movie get thumbs down. I want to see ChristianPod get martyred. I want to see PodPorn go down (so to speak). C'mon people, vote and make this site #1!

I think I'm offended, but I'm not sure :?

You win, I'll go vote.

By the way, I would've said to throw ChristianPod to the lions, but that's just me. And I'm not touching the PodPorn thing.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but let's not promote jpod101 by badmouthing (even if it isn't seriously) other podcasts. This is not a high school pep rally, and you never know who you might accidentally offend here in the public forum, however mildly. Like, just for an example, a forum admin who happens to be a devout Christian. OK?

It's the "lion" thing wasn't it? Honestly, no offense meant and hopefully none taken. I was merely trying to highlight one offensive statement by using another. Using absurdity to highlight absurdity, you see.

If you were actually offended by my little jest, I sincerely apologize for that. I don't want to offend anyone around here on purpose...That's what my site is for.

The PodPorn "going down" thing was pretty funny though... :P

It's ok. It's not just about my personal response, though lions and martyrdom in general are kind of sore subjects for Christians. But my personal feelings aside, we like to maintain a positive atmosphere around here. As benign as a putdown may be intended, it may not actually get taken that way especially if it's about competing podcasts. So I think it would be best if we steered clear of it all togehter.

Ok, I'll give you that. :P

Can do!

If it would make anyone feel better, you can make fun of geeky b-movie nerds like me. Trust me, there's a lot of fertile ground there. :P

Jason, have you remembered to vote? :P

Ok, folks, we are 142 overall and up to #5 in Education...and since I cannot badmouth podcasts anymore (not even PodPorn??? after all, they're not only beating the bishop {by 6 places! Poor "Catholic Family Podcast"!} but they're still beating us!) let me just say we should be #1 in Education, ladies and gentlemen! Show your support! Go vote and get us up to #1!

"Beating the bishop"?

Never heard that one before... Is that a reference to the shape of the chess piece?
