Learning Japanese Poll

Postby Liz21 » September 4th, 2006 10:51 am

I would like to try to create a little poll that might show something about our community. Thanks for participating! :D

Years might be a bit misleading.

Someone doing a 90 minute class once a week is going to be very different from someone doing an undergraduate degree or even a high school course.

The JLPT seems to try to count learning experience in classroom hours. (Probably making some assumptions about homework and self study)

I also wonder if there are particular milestones in Japanese learning.
For instance if you say you are confident in using the てform would it mean you were at a particular level and other knowledge could be assumed?

But it'll be interesting to get a snapshot of the jPod族 (zoku) from yor polls Liz-san.

The first one means "from day one to one year". OK? Click that one. Thanks!

Hi Liz, that's a good idea! :P
It may not be very precise, as Belton says, but it should give a general idea - are most people advanced or most people beginners - about us listeners.

I voted "1 year" - really it's just a couple of months that I'm "studying" ... :? well, trying to study... ... I *do* know the -te form :) but better don't assume any other knowledge, Belton

I signed up last February (about a week after I started studying altogether). I can't believe it's almost been a year already
