How TO Manipulate My Flashcard Decks

Postby Teabag » August 11th, 2013 7:25 am

Hi all,
I usually create a flashcard deck with 10-15 lessons as I don't want hundreds of decks on the page. So, some of my decks have more than 50 new words. When I tried to review these words today, I had this problem.

I practiced with the same deck twice and found out that even if I clicked on the "Well" button, the same word still showed up the second time. Is there a way to make my flashcard decks start with the ones that haven't appeared before? Or is it the system setting to make the flashcards show randomly?

I was puzzled by that behaviour at first. But in fact you aren't being shown the same card twice. Each flashcard is actually five cards: kanji, kana, roumaji, English, and Japanese audio. A deck with 50 new 'words' will therefore contain 250 new 'cards'; if the system picks the 'cards' truly at random and you've set the session for 30 cards, it isn't very likely that you'd be shown 30 different 'words' although you will be shown 30 different 'cards'.

Hope that makes sense!
