Track File names on I-POD are too long to be seen

Postby 1japanese4me » April 17th, 2010 5:21 am

One thing that has really been bugging me is how I can see the entire name of a track on my I-pod.

Instead I just see huge scroll of "Upper Intermediate Lesson S3......"

Could you just easy change it to

"S# Lesson.X (review,Dialogue,main) name, Level"

or some other naming convention that would shorten it a bit so we can read it easier on portable devices.

I'm really disappointed I cant keep track of what i'm doing on my I-phone.

Love you guys though!

Also it would be great if when you read the text and press the center button if there was a way to make that bigger, but i know that an apple issue. I was wondering how your J-Pod will look on an I-pod...

Actually I had the same problem. I listen to the lessons on my way to and from work. I hook up my iPhone to my car stereo and the LCD display only shows about 20 characters at a time.

I navigate to the Artist, Album, then Track. To make it easier to navigate, I wrote a program to update the tags in the MP3 files.

First I change the Artist to JPOD101.

Then I update the Album to B.4 01-10 which is Beginner Season 4, lessons 1-10. I group the lessons in groups of 10 so it is easier to scroll to the correct lesson on the car stereo.

Then I name the Track to B.4 01 - Nihongo Dōjo - Meet The Parents 1

So far this has worked pretty well.
